Okjen Farm is owned and operated by Linda & Wes Kindle. Linda was born in the central part of the Netherlands, where she grew up with horses on the family owned and operated riding school. She started to ride at the age of six on New Forest Ponies. At the riding school she was formally trained in dressage, jumping and driving. The riding school gave her the privilege of learning under some of Europe's top ranking instructors and horse trainers.

Some instructors that she had the honor to be mentored by where Colonel G.Bijl De Vroe,who was Colonel in the Cavalry in Hungary and later became a Colonel with the "Dutch Gele Rijders" an Elite Corps of the Cavalry.Bijl De Vroe was also a student of a schoolmaster at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria. Mr Dijkman was another instructor of Linda's who was instructor and trainer/buyer of the Royal Mounted Police in Den Haag, Holland. From both Mr Dijkman and Bijl De Vroe is where Linda acquired her classical dressage training.
Later one she wrote with the Classicle French dressage rider and author Jean-Claude Racinet. 
Over the years she studied all the the masters from LA Gueriniere, Bent Branerup, Anja Beran, Philippe Karl and Nuno Oliveira to name a few. 

Her jumping mentors where Tom Olsmeyer who started, sold, and showed  jumpers at his jumping stable across the street from Linda's stable. One of the riding students there was the now Dutch Olympic Silver Medal winner Albert Voorn. After college Linda studied Dentistry and became a Dental Technician specializing in crown and bridgework but she also kept up her equine education.

After immigrating to Washington State in 1980, she continued to go back to Holland where she acquired her AI education in fresh and frozen semen at the Equine Reproductive Clinic in Stroe.
In 1985 Linda went back to Holland to import more Friesian's, and the approved Haflinger Stallion Mando.
They started their Carriage rides and Sleigh service business in Leavenworth, WA.
The business flourished and more Friesians where bought and raised. Over the five years in Leavenworth the Friesians and their business was spotlighted in national newspapers, magazines and television.
In 1986 Linda was awarded business woman by Northwest Woman Magazine.
That year you could find their horses on calendars, postcards, and Christmas cards.

The breeding program and training became more in demand and the carriage and sleigh where parked away.  
In 1990 the Kindle's moved to Bellingham WA, where they continue the breeding of Friesians, Warmbloods and New Forest Ponies.

In 2002 Linda was awarded for her breeding accomplishments by the FPZV and her Friesian mare Alida received her Lifetime Achievement Award on her offspring.

In 2008 & 2009 Linda was awarded best and most accomplished business woman
by Mountclair Who is Who.and Continental Who's Who.

2010 I became involved with the Whatcom County of Washington State Pony Club.as there dressage instructor and NWA rater.
2012 I resigned from the Pony Club to focus more on the art of Classical Dressage.the art of Classical Dressage.

​Since 2013 we expanded are business with the Pure Spanish horses. We imported the breeding stallion Lagartijo and a year later the mare Arpa  and Unica for our breeding program .
